CYNTHIA S. VAUGHN, D.C.,
F.I.C.C.
As a former coding consultant to the Federal
Bureau of Investigation and as a member of the
ACA Coding and Clinical
Documentation Committees, Dr. Vaughn gained experience and expertise on a
wide variety of health care issues including ethics, standard of care, clinical
documentation, boundaries, public protection and coding.
Her consulting experience includes deposition
and trial testimony on legal cases and case reviews for the legal profession
and insurance companies. Dr. Vaughn is a Certified Impairment Rating Doctor
as well as a Certified Designated Doctor for
the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation. She
is also certified in "Whiplash and Spinal Trauma" and by the American
Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians.
Dr. Vaughn is a 1984 Summa Cum Laude graduate
of Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and has practiced in Austin since
1988. She was appointed to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners by Governor
George W. Bush in 1997. In 2000, Governor Bush appointed her
President of the Board
where she served until 2003.
Dr. Vaughn currently serves as
East Texas Delegate
to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA),
Secretary of the ACA Council
of Delegates, and Chairman of the ACA Clinical Documentation Committee.
She also serves on the Parker College of Chiropractic Board of Trustees and
was elected Secretary of the Board in 2010.
In 2002, U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs
(VA) Secretary Anthony Principi appointed Dr. Vaughn to the
VA Chiropractic Advisory
Committee and in March 2005,
VA Secretary R. James Nicholson
appointed her to the VA Advisory Committee on Chiropractic Care
Implementation.
In 2005, Dr. Vaughn received the ACA
"Dr. John Flynn & Dr.
Robert Lynch Memorial Award" for outstanding service and leadership.
In 2007, she was the receipient of the
"Keeler Plaque Award"
recognizing the Texas Chiropractic Association "Doctor of the Year" and in
2008, Dr. Vaughn was named
"Delegate of the Year"
by the American Chiropractic Association..
